LEADERSHIP BLADEN,
a new leadership development initiative,
is an exciting opportunity for Bladen leaders current corporate, institutional
and community leaders, as well as perspective leaders.
The inaugural Leadership Bladen institute will be a 9-month "Qualities
of Leadership program (to be held September, 2007 - May, 2008) built upon
successful models used by other North Carolina counties.
- Leadership Bladen will focus on the development of leadership as
a process, as well as interpersonal relationships, social and cultural influences
and team building dynamics.
- Social networking and community linkage will be integrated with leadership
skills, a first hand knowledge of Bladen County, and the powerful dynamic
of teamwork and cooperation.
- Leadership Bladen is slated to begin in September will kick-off with
a two-day retreat followed by monthly meetings from October to May.
- Monthly sessions will convene on a weekday at Bladen Community College and
will focus on a unique area of leadership within various local arenas such
as economic development, government, history and tourism and will include
a community trip (or field trip) segment to augment the training.
Each session promises to be filled with information, value-added resources,
interesting people, places, and events!
- Registration is open to all Bladen citizens and business people.
- Attendees are selected by the Leadership Bladen Board of Advisors and will
be limited to 15 each year.
- The cost for Leadership Bladen will be $295.
- Successful candidates will receive a diploma upon graduation in May.
